As a practice, we offer acute & urgent care services to patients as required. While acute care is focused on health care for short-term illnesses or symptoms that begin suddenly, Urgent Care Medicine is the provision of immediate medical service offering for the treatment of acute and chronic illness / injuries where an individual’s primary care physician is unavailable or out of office.

We provide care for individuals ages 3 and up for conditions that are not considered emergencies or life-threatening, but still in need of care within 24 hours.

An acute or urgent care appointment may include diagnosis and treatment of symptoms associated with, but not limited to the following.

  • Skin infections and rashes
  • Minor cuts, wounds, and burns
  • Fever, colds, and flu
  • Sprains, strains, and fractures
  • Eye redness and irritation
  • Sore throat and coughing
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea and vomiting
  • Urinary Tract Infection

Usually, your primary care provider is the ideal practitioner to offer acute care, and you can be rest assured that the providers at Liberty Family care. A professional who can be trusted to offer the best medical attention your health deserves.

Excellence in care for patients with complex and or unusual conditions is founded on the close communication and collaboration between the urgent care medicine physician, the specialists, and the primary physicians. Therefore, at Liberty Family Care, we pay close attention to details when it comes to your healthcare management.

How do I know I need acute care?

When you have concerning symptoms that suddenly arise because of an illness or injury, it is critical to your health that you seek medical assistance immediately. You do not have to bother about medical excuse notes as your health providers at LFC will provide a doctor’s excuse if required for school or work.

You will need acute care if you have symptoms, such as: 

  • Sore throat
  • Ear infection or earache 
  • Pink eye or a stye 
  • Cough and congestion
  • Sinus infection 
  • Cold or flu 
  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
  • Heartburn or indigestion 
  • Urinary or yeast infection
  • Gout 
  • Minor wounds, burns, or cuts.
  • Sprains, strains and joint pain

Liberty Family Care offers non-judgmental, confidential sexually transmitted disease (STD) evaluation, treatment, and counselling for affected patients. If you have symptoms, have personal questions, or know you have had an exposure to STD, please call the office or schedule an appointment online as soon as possible to speak directly with Dr Bola.

What to expect during an acute care visit?

At your initial on site visit, Dr. Bolaji and her team of professionals begin by collecting vital information regarding your health history, family history, medications, and current symptoms. They perform a complete physical and medical assessment on you and create an individualized plan of care.
Your care plan may include:

  • Prescription medications
  • Over-the-counter medications 
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Dietary changes
  • Specialist referrals
  • At-home treatments
  • Follow-up visits
  • Stitches or wound care

Your primary care provider, Dr. Bola coordinates your acute care and if you need other medical experts, community services, or higher-level treatments outside her purview, she manages the referrals. She monitors your health care team and ensures that you get everything you need to return to your best health as quickly as possible.
